Aracoma hosted the 1980 Section Conclave at Camp Horne. Aracoma's 142 member host corps put on another extravaganza. Highlights were the 28 member Jazz band from Explorer Post 34 directed by Milton Powell, 30-foot O.A. sashes, fireworks and a hot air balloon that couldn't take off because of high winds. But the piece de resistance was Tom Strong, Aracoma's Lodge Advisor, as Allowat Sakima in the parody of the Coca-Cola commercial with Mean Joe Green. Bob Matthews served as Section Chief.
