Several older individuals who know about or earned this patch state the following:

   "This patch was given out when we had camporees
    where Monish park is now, next to Tuscaloosa High
    School.  This was before the school was built.  
    That area used to be nothing but woods."

Tuscaloosa High School (also known as Central High School East Campus until 2003 when it was closed) was opened in 1954. Assuming the school took approximately 2 years to build one can place this patch to somewhere around 1952.
